Level 2 Food Safety in Catering (CIEH Approved)

 

Duration:

1 day / 6 hours

 

Target Audience:
Anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled

 

Course Details:
Delegates will be taught a firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved. They will leave with an understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling) and have the confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers.

Assessment for this course is the completion of a 30 question, multiple-choice examination.

CIEH advise that refreshment of this qualification is recommended at least every 3 years.

 

 

Principles of Risk Assessment

 

Duration:

1 day / 6 hours

 

Target Audience:
Anyone in a work environment as it raises learners’ awareness of the concept of risk assessment.

 

Course Details:
This qualification is designed to help improve the workplace culture for occupational health and

safety by enabling learners to understand the

basic principles of risk assessment.

There is no final examination with this course the trainer will continually asses each candidate throughout the course.

Each successful candidate will receive a certificate which is valid for 12 months.

 

 

Level 1 Fire Safety Awareness (CIEH Approved)

 

Duration:

Half day / 3 hours

 

Target Audience:
Anyone in a work environment.

 

Course Details:
The Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness is designed to help an organisation to meet its duties under current fire safety legislation by providing employees with essential knowledge about fire safety, helping them to understand how to prevent

a fire from starting as well as what actions to take

if a fire does break out.

 

On completion of a multiple choice examination each successful candidate will be awarded a CIEH approved certificate.

 

 

 

 

 


 

Manual Handling Awareness

 

Duration:

Half day / 3 hours

 

Target Audience:
All employees who have to carry out any manual handling activities at work, including both industrial and office workers.

Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, employers are required to take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of injury to employees – this includes suitable training.

 

Course Details:
This qualification, aimed at those who carry out manual handling at work, provides essential information about manual handling hazards and

their control.

On successful completion of the course all

candidates will be awarded a certificate.

 

 

Display Screen Equipment Training

 

These courses are aimed at users of display screen equipment (DSE) and those responsible for assessing display screen equipment. A ‘user’, is anyone who regularly uses display screen equipment for a significant part of their normal work. In practice, if you use display screen equipment continuously for more than one hour a day, then you’re a ‘user’.

So what do we mean by display screen equipment?....
The first thing most people think of is a computer monitor. But that’s not the only thing it refers to Display screen equipment could also mean laptops, tablet PCs, televisions, smartphones, CNC control pads, portable diagnostic screens or equipment containing cathode ray tubes, or CRTs. The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations contain special directives covering DSE safety. Both employers and employee‐users have responsibilities under the legislation. This course fulfils your statutory training obligations and covers among other things,,, the correct way to set up and use your display screen equipment safely. Reducing the risk of work related conditions.

Target Audience:
This course is designed for employees who hope to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.)

 

Course Details:
The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety Principles allows candidates to develop their basic fire safety awareness. It is particularly useful for employees who are to have a designated responsibility for workplace fire safety, for example as fire wardens or fire marshals, and provides the knowledge that will allow them to carry out duties relating to fire safety and emergency procedures.

 

On completion of a multiple choice examination each successful candidate will be awarded a CIEH approved certificate.
